Foster Care

Hope and Transformation for Children and Families
Foster Care serves children in the foster care system by recruiting, training, certifying, and supporting Christian foster families. Our goal is to provide excellent care for children until they can be returned to a healthier, more functional family. For those children not able to return home, the Foster Care team works to connect them with Christian adoptive families.
Every child placed with a YFC foster family naturally experiences the love of Christ on a daily basis. Imagine if every foster child was placed with a Christian family.
We believe foster parenting is a calling...
We believe in the restoration of children...
We believe in the reconciliation of families...
We believe every child deserves a permanent family...
How many foster children are in our community?
This year, over 10,000 children will be placed in foster care or relative care in Washington State (that is an increase from last year). There are over 6,000 children placed in licensed foster homes in Washington State and in Kitsap and N. Mason Counties there are approximately 400-500 kids in licensed foster homes at any given time. In Washington State, there are over 2,000 foster children who are legally free and waiting to be adopted.
